See eagles and turtles and jumping fish and all of nature's glory on a bicycle that floats on the water or a kayak. Getting out on the Illinois River once you clear the creek feels like you're on a lake it's so wide and goes on for miles. Maybe a ride across the river to the riverfront restaurant/bar if you're up for it or paddle or peddle along the sandstone bluffs of Buffalo Rock State Park. It's a short walk to the corner of the property to launch into the creek and into the Illinois River from either the dock or the mini beach area.
Firewood
Self-Serve for your convenience
Firewood is for now located across the gravel road from site 1 under a black tarp. 7 random sized pieces = 1 bundle if not bundled. Load them in your trunk or carry them over to your fire pit. Fire starter squares and a lighter are located in kitchen drawer. Please keep fires at a safe size and do not burn in strong winds. Do not leave fire unattended and put out once done.
