Watercraft Rentals - On-Site
See eagles and turtles and jumping fish and all of nature's glory on a bicycle that floats on the water or a kayak. Getting out on the Illinois River once you clear the creek feels like you're on a lake it's so wide and goes on for miles. Maybe a ride across the river to the riverfront restaurant/bar if you're up for it or paddle or peddle along the sandstone bluffs of Buffalo Rock State Park. It's a short walk to the corner of the property to launch into the creek and into the Illinois River from either the dock or the mini beach area.
Firewood - self serve honor system
Firewood is for now located across the gravel road from site 1 under a grey tarp. 8 random sized pieces = 1 bundle. Load them in your trunk or carry them over to your fire pit. Fire starter (citronella oil) is located by fire pit. Lighter is located in kitchen drawer. Please keep fires at a safe size and do not burn in strong winds. Do not leave fire unattended and put out once done. Now go cook some smores.
